Their monthly fee ranges from 0.07 UF to 0.35 UF, that is, between CLP 2,890 and CLP 14,448 a month at the November 6 UF, and the bank states that none charges a fee on foreign purchases. The information is journalistic and does not replace the summary sheet the bank must provide before you sign up, which shows the interest rate and the CAE (annual equivalent cost) of each transaction. Banco de Chile credit card fees in 2026

Banco de Chile charges a single monthly fee per card, in UF, and each product page states it is the same with or without a checking account plan. For the Universal, the page adds that the semiannual maintenance fee is waived and that cash advances, regular or in installments, carry no fee either. The table shows the monthly charge, its annual equivalent in pesos and the minimum opening limit for each card.

The annual cost is a Pauta Financiera calculation (monthly fee times 12) and changes with the UF; our guide on what the UF is explains why it rises every month. The CAE does not appear on the product pages: the bank reports it on the summary sheet and in each simulation of an installment purchase or cash advance.

Requirements for the Banco de Chile credit card

Banco de Chile's product pages do not publish a minimum income per card. They state that cards are subject to the customer's commercial and financial assessment, that the fee table applies to individuals without a registered business, and that access conditions are in the bank's rates, fees and charges document. The public figure that works as a reference is the minimum opening limit: CLP 500,000 for Universal, Fan and Platinum; CLP 1,500,000 for Signature and Black; and CLP 2,500,000 for Infinite.

  • Valid ID card and income documents for the bank's assessment.
  • Individual without a registered business, per each page's fee table.
  • Digital Student Plan: for higher-education students aged 18 to 27; the card depends on the institution and degree, according to the bank's policy.
  • Minimum income per card: not published on the pages checked.

Those just starting out can compare these conditions with other banks' in our guide to credit cards for students, which gathers current university plans.

Dólares-Premio, travel and benefits by card

The bank's rewards program is Dólares-Premio, run by Travel Club. According to the bank's cards page, earning per dollar spent rises with the tier: 0.5% on the Visa Fan, 0.6% on the Platinum, 0.7% on the Signature and Black, and 0.8% on the Infinite; the Universal reports no earning. The four top-tier cards give access to VIP lounges at a preferential rate, not free: the Signature page states between US$27 and US$32 per visit through the Visa Airport Companion app.

Transfers to Santiago airport are earned with purchases from CLP 300,000 at Travel Viajes or airlines paid with the card, according to the note on the bank's page. "Not published" means the page checked does not show the figure.

Since none of the six charges for purchases outside Chile, Banco de Chile is among the issuers suited to paying abroad; if you also need cash, our guide on where to buy dollars explains how to compare each channel's price.

CAE and maximum rate: how much the Banco de Chile credit card can charge

The CAE (annual equivalent cost) sums up a loan's interest rate, fees and charges in one annual percentage. Banco de Chile does not publish it on its card pages because it depends on the amount, term and rate of each installment purchase or cash advance; it reports it on the summary sheet and in simulations. What is public is the legal ceiling: no card can charge more than the maximum conventional rate the CMF sets each month.

What paying in installments with Banco de Chile can cost

The maintenance fee is only part of the cost. What weighs most, when the full statement is not paid or purchases are made in interest-bearing installments, is interest. Since Banco de Chile does not publish a fixed rate per card, the calculation below uses the legal ceiling: a CLP 300,000 purchase at the maximum conventional rate of 41.02% a year (bracket up to 50 UF, in force since October 15, 2026). It is the worst case; the rate the bank offers each customer may be lower.

Since June 2026 the minimum payment on all cards is also changing. According to the CMF, once General Rule 537 is fully phased in, the minimum payment must cover 100% of non-financeable amounts (interest-free installments for the period, interest, fees and other charges) plus 5% of financeable amounts, which are mainly principal. The rule is being applied gradually and is fully in force 24 months after it began.

Which Banco de Chile card fits each profile

  • Occasional use and low fixed cost: the Mastercard Universal, at 0.07 UF a month (about CLP 34,680 a year), with no foreign charge but no Dólares-Premio. Other no-fee options are in our guide to cards with no maintenance fee.
  • Those who want rewards without paying much: the Visa Fan (0.132 UF) is the cheapest with Dólares-Premio.
  • Frequent travelers: Platinum, Signature, Black and Infinite add transfers and VIP lounges at preferential rates; the cost gap between Platinum and Infinite is about CLP 49,536 a year.
