CMR Falabella card 2026: requirements, fees, CAE and how to apply

Updated November 6, 2026. The CMR Falabella card is currently offered in three Mastercard versions: Classic, Premium and Elite. For new contracts, the monthly administration fee ranges from 0.135 UF to 0.35 UF including VAT, that is, from CLP 5,573 to CLP 14,448 a month at the November 6 UF, according to Banco Falabella's fee schedule for products taken out since April 1, 2026. That fee can be halved or waived if a yearly Fpuntos or spending target is met.

This profile gathers what the issuer publishes about a single card: fees, rates, CAE, foreign charges, requirements and steps to apply. The comparison with Ripley, Lider Bci, Cencosud and Hites is in our department store card ranking; here we go deeper into the CMR only. According to its rate board, the cards are issued by Promotora CMR Falabella S.A. Anything that does not appear in the documents reviewed is marked "not published".

Fee discount: Fpuntos or yearly spending

A new discount rule has applied since September 14, 2026, according to the rate board. Within the same calendar year, the cardholder gets a 50% discount by earning more than 80,000 Fpuntos or spending CLP 6,600,000 or more with the CMR (an average of CLP 550,000 a month), and 100% by earning at least 220,000 Fpuntos or spending CLP 18,000,000 or more (an average of CLP 1,500,000 a month). The discount applies from the month after the target is met and lasts until December 31 of the following year.

For the Classic CMR, the 50% discount is worth about CLP 33,438 a year and the 100% discount CLP 66,876 (Pauta Financiera calculation). The previous rules still apply to those who already met them: cardholders who earned 60,000 CMR Puntos or more between January 1 and September 13, 2026 get a 100% discount, and those who earned between 25,000 and 59,999 get 50%, both until December 31, 2027. On its Fpuntos page the bank states that the CMR earns from 1 Fpunto per CLP 150 at its stores and that 1 Fpunto is worth CLP 1 when redeemed.

What paying in installments with the CMR costs

The fee is only part of the cost. What weighs most, when buying in interest-bearing installments or not paying the full statement, is interest. The calculation below uses the maximum rate the issuer publishes for small installment purchases, 3.41% a month, on a CLP 300,000 purchase. It is the most expensive case on its rate board; each customer may be offered a lower rate.

Since June 2026 the minimum payment on all cards is also changing. According to the CMF, once General Rule 537 is fully phased in, the minimum payment must cover 100% of non-financeable amounts (interest-free installments for the period, interest, fees and other charges) plus 5% of financeable amounts, which are mainly principal. The rule is being applied gradually and is fully in force 24 months after it began.

Cash advances, foreign purchases and collection

The April 2026 schedule sets the foreign purchase charge at US$0 + 0%; those purchases are converted to pesos instantly, according to the CMR Mastercard page. Cash withdrawals abroad cost 2.5% of the amount + US$2.5. To buy currency before traveling, our guide on where to buy dollars compares banks and exchange houses.

At partner ATMs, small cash advances are repaid in a fixed number of installments: from 3 for CLP 5,000-10,000 to 15 for CLP 100,001-200,000.

The secured CMR

For those who do not pass the assessment, the bank offers the secured CMR: between CLP 50,000 and CLP 2,000,000 is deposited in a savings account in the customer's name, which earns interest and sets the initial limit. The deposit is only used if the debt is more than 60 days past due, and after a year of responsible use the customer could keep the card without it, subject to assessment. Other options with lower requirements are in our guide to easy-to-get credit cards.

How to apply for the CMR card step by step

  • Online application: through Banco Falabella's website or app; the digital card can be used as soon as the account is approved, according to the secured CMR page.
  • Phone wallet: the app adds it to Google or Apple Wallet with the "Activate contactless payment" option.
  • Physical card: requested for home delivery through the app, arriving in 2 to 5 business days depending on the area, or picked up at a branch, according to the New to CMR? page.
  • Activation and PIN: the physical card is activated in the app and a 4-digit PIN must be created.

Which version fits each profile, based on its terms

  • Occasional use: the Classic, with the lowest fee in the lineup (UF 0.135 a month) and Fpuntos valid for one year.
  • High spending at group stores: the CLP 6,600,000 yearly target for a 50% discount equals CLP 550,000 a month; the 100% target, CLP 1,500,000.
  • Travel: all three versions report 0% on foreign purchases; the Elite adds two yearly visits to the Primeclass lounge in Santiago, two bags and two transfers when buying through Viajes Falabella.
  • First card or no history: the secured version, from CLP 50,000. There are also options for young people in our guide to student credit cards.
